The Miniature Bulldog is a non-sporting/companion breed that was bred to be a loving companion. The Miniature Bulldog breed was first recorded as being developed in America around the 1980's. The Miniature Bulldog breed was bred from the English Bulldog breed and has a small percent of Pug and French Bulldog in the first generations to acheive the size difference and heath improvements. In most Miniature Bulldog lines these breeds are 5 or more generations removed. The Miniature Bulldog breed closely resembles the English Bulldog, the biggest difference in the two breeds being size & health. The Miniature Bulldog breed was developed in hopes of improving the health and reducing the size of the full sized English Bulldog. Mini Bulldogs have typical features of full sized English Bulldogs. Weight can range from 20 to 40 lbs. These dogs typically stand 12-14" at the shoulders, length is 17-24".
